For over ten years, PAS DE HIC
have been developing ceramic projects, both decorative and
fonctionnal. However, it has been the last centuries old
technique of mosaics that has guided and inspired Sophie
Thévenaz, founder of the workshop. In 1995 she introduced
Daniel Faubert to her world of ceramics. Their history together
is one of passion for the material, its forms and its colours.
A playful mingling of clay, ciment, iron, wood, and glass
is behind the unique works that they create.
There has been a renewed interest in mosaics over the past
several years. This antique art form piques the curiosity
and meets the demands of a larger and larger public. Sophie
and Daniel enjoy creating objects for the kitchen, living
room, bedroom, office and bathroom.

Each work is handcrafted in their
small workshop. Switzerland will home base for the murals,
tiles and objects that decorate and brighten our daily lives.
For these two artists, the art of a mosaïc lies in the
interplay of pieces of ceramic with various other materials
and in incorporating vivid colours into playful shapes. The
Commedia dell'arte is a strong influence in their work and
a quickly growing clientele is appreciating the raw power
of the tables, mirrors and tableware that they create.
These ceramits, designers and artists offer each client a
personnalized concept of decorative ceramics - one that is
adapted to their needs, and their pocketbook.
